FCP Master

This part of module covers video editing using Final Cut Pro (FCP). FCP is widely used professional non-linear editing software applications developed by Apple Inc. The current version of the application is only available for Mac OS X version 10.5.6 or later, and is a module of the Final Cut Studio product. The current version of Final Cut Pro, version 7, runs only on Intel processors. It is compatible with many hardware interfaces.

It is really challenge to become skilled in Final Cut Pro. It is required that you should have all-round development while you are engaged in entertainment industry. That's why we have developed the Film & Video Editing Programme.

Module I:

Video and Audio Editing:
FCP
master imparts the best of the tools to learn the concepts, theories and practices that have become the visual language of our current media form. Television stations, major corporations, commercials are among the business that hire students.

Final Cut Pro:
Final Cut Pro is a professional non-linear editing software application developed by Apple Inc. The current version of the application is only available for Mac OS X version 10.5.6 or later, and is a module of the Final Cut Studio product. The software logs and captures video onto a hard drive (internal or external), where it can be edited and processed. The current version of Final Cut Pro, version 7, runs only on Intel processors. It is compatible with many hardware interfaces.

Color:
Color is a professional grading software application produced by Apple Inc. for their Mac OS X operating system. It is one of the major applications included as part of Apple’s final Cut studio 3 video production suite.

Module II:

Motion Graphics:

Motion graphics uses video and/ or animation technology to create the illusion of motion or a transforming appearance. They are combined with audio for use in multimedia projects. Our course gives the students with best of the exposures about motion graphics including how to export them for synchronization for further processes.

Motion:
Motion is an incredibly powerful graphics animation software package that allows you to create stunning visual graphics and special effects. These effects are designed to be implemented into Apple's Final Cut Pro software. Motion is extremely powerful, but yet very complex. This class will introduce you to the critical fundamentals to help harness the powerful features of Motion.

Industry professionals are using Motion to add complex effects to their productions. Complex motion graphics are no longer limited to high end post production houses. Anyone who has Motion in combination with Final Cut Pro is now able to produce stunning motion graphics and animations within their projects.

Module III:

Finishing and Outputting:

Finishing and outputting is as important as a safe landing for a plan. Without proper knowledge of this segment one cannot become a perfect video editor. One should know about creating DVD masters to send out for replication at production houses, and rendering of the projects into the DVD format without encoding to intermediary formats, and streamline production workflow and reduce overhead.

DVD Studio Pro:
DVD Studio Pro is a high-end software tool published by Apple Inc. to allow users to create DVD masters to be sent out for replication at production houses. Its tight integration with other Apple applications allows users to take Final Cut Pro and Motion projects and render them into the DVD format without encoding to intermediary formats. This streamlines the production workflow and reduces overhead.

Compressor:
Compressor is used for encoding MPEG-1, MPEG-2 for DVD, QuickTime .mov, MPEG-4 (Simple Profile), MPEG-4 H.264 and optional (third Party and often commercial) QuickTime Exporter Components to export to Windows Media, for example. Among its other features is the ability to convert from NTSC to PAL and vice versa and the ability to 'up-convert' from Standard Definition video to High Definition video with feature detail detection to prevent serious quality losses.

Compressor is mainly used to encode Final Cut Pro projects into the necessary DVD MPEG-2 format. Filters can be applied to video during the conversion process, and the video can be cropped.
