Certificate Course in Still Photography (2 months)
Photography is an art of writing with light. The word "photography" comes from the French photographic which is based on the Greek words φως phos ("light"), and γραφίς graphis ("stylus", "paintbrush") or γραφή graphê ("representation by means of lines" or "drawing"), together meaning "drawing with light". This course is about producing professionals in still digital photography having an understanding from the basics of light, composition, color, lighting, processing and retouching.
Theory of Photography
• History & meaning of photography. Types of photography. Types of Camera & lenses.
• Different parts of camera & their functions.
• Camera controls: Shutter, Aperture, F-number, built-in exposure meters and various patterns such as average, centre weighted and spot reading.
• Bracketing technique, Photographic Films & their applications, ISO settings, Depth of field, Focus & sharpness in a photograph.
• Difference between negative & digital cameras.
• Menu operations of Digital SLR cameras. White balance settings.
• Natural light & Artificial light. In-built flash and studio lighting.
Practical
• Basic camera operations: holding the camera, setting exposures manually, focusing, releasing shutter etc. Different effects of shutter & aperture.
• Bracketing, auto exposure, different metering modes.
• Different effects of zooming. Freezing, panning etc.
• Studio lighting for shooting portfolios, fashion, product etc.
• Story telling – Photo Journalism.
• Water droplet photography
• Portfolio photography
• Fashion photography
• Art photography
• Jewelry photography
• Product photography
Course Details:

Duration of course 2 months (32 hours)
